After more than two decades building a career as a high-tech executive, our founder, Maria Gregoriou, made a bold choice that changed everything. She decided to step away from the corporate world to pursue a lifelong passion, travel, and embarked on a journey that would completely redefine her path.
Why?
The answer is simple.
“Travel has always been my way of connecting with people. Experiencing different parts of the world alongside others who share that same passion for exploration is the most fulfilling part. We often think we have to wait for the perfect trip to come along, but why wait? Life is about embracing new experiences and meeting new people.”
What began as personal exploration quickly grew into something much bigger. From sunrise treks through breathtaking landscapes to quiet afternoons talking with locals in small, authentic communities, each experience opened her eyes to the transformative power of travel. But as unforgettable as those moments were, she found herself wishing she had a community to share them with.
And she was not the only one. Friends she met on her trips, at travel conferences, and in her everyday life felt the same.
It became clear that Maria was not alone. Many women craved the same opportunity to share meaningful travel experiences. They longed for immersive journeys but often lacked the time to plan every detail or were not sure where to begin.
And that is how the idea for Exclusolo was born.
